General terms and conditions
1 Subject
These general terms and conditions legally regulate the use of the War Dead Register site’s services (hereinafter referred to as ‘the site’).
Access to the site implies a contract between the War Heritage Institute (publisher of the War Dead Register site) and the user. This access must be preceded by acceptance of the General Terms and Conditions. Access to this platform constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions
2 Legal notices
The War Dead Register site is published by the public law organization War Heritage Institute, registered with the ECB under company number 0675.699.624 and whose head office is located in 1000 Brussels, Parc du Cinquantenaire 3.
Cronos hosts the War Dead Register site.
3 Access to the site
The War Dead Register site offers free access to the following services: data related to the Belgian fallen soldiers and war graves.
The site is freely accessible everywhere to any user with Internet access. All costs associated with access to the services (IT equipment, Internet connection, etc.) are borne by the user.
The publisher is allowed to interrupt or suspend access to the site for maintenance or other reasons without notice or justification.

5 Intellectual property
All War Dead Register site brands, logos and contents (graphic illustrations, texts, etc.) are protected by copyright.
Reproduction and copying of content by the user requires prior permission from the site. In this case, use for commercial or advertising purposes is prohibited.
6 Publication by the user
The War Dead Register site allows users to ask the War Heritage Institute team questions about or regarding the institution’s missions, or to offer to work with the War Heritage Institute team on the institution’s missions, or to make comments. In his publications, the user is expected to respect general decency and courtesy rules, as well as to comply with applicable legislation.
The site has the right to exercise a posteriori moderation on publications and may refuse online publication without having to justify its decision.
The user retains all his intellectual property rights. However, publication on the site implies the delegation of the non-exclusive and free right to the publishing house to represent, reproduce, modify, adapt, distribute and broadcast the publication anywhere and on any medium for the duration of the intellectual property. This can be done either directly or through an authorized third party. This includes, among other things, the right to use the publication on the Internet and on mobile telephone networks.
For each use, the publisher commits to including the member’s name in the publication.
The user is held responsible for the content he posts online. The user must not publish content that could harm the interests of third parties. Any legal proceedings brought against the site by an injured third party will be the sole responsibility of the user and have to be settled by the user.
The site may remove or edit user content at any time, for any reason, without notice.
