After two years of research Carlos Heytens, a War Dead Register volunteer, has established that 184 Belgian First World War civilian victims were incorrectly buried in Sedan (France), as they were laid to rest with the French nationality. Moreover, their names are imperfectly spelled. Carlos came to this conclusion by comparing hundreds of birth certificates with the graves in the Saint-Charles (Sedan) municipal cemetery.
